The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its newest members — 819 to be exact — and this includes ITVS Vice President of Content Noland Walker. We extend our heartiest congratulations to Noland on this incredible honor.

Walker is a co-programmer of ITVS's Independent Lens series on PBS, and prior documentary credits include award-winning films such as Africans in America, Citizen King, Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple, and Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story. At ITVS, Walker has led talent expansion efforts, shaped editorial for co-produced broadcast projects, and was key in the story development of the News and Documentary Emmy ® award-winners In Football We Trust and (T)ERROR, plus Peabody nominee One Child Nation, among many others.

"It's a real honor to be selected among my documentary peers for membership, as someone who has spent my adult life figuring out how to do my best work while helping others do theirs," said Walker. "I thank the Academy for including me with this remarkable class of people coming in."

“The Academy is delighted to welcome these distinguished fellow travelers in the motion picture arts and sciences.  We have always embraced extraordinary talent that reflects the rich variety of our global film community, and never more so than now,” said Academy President David Rubin.

Join us in sending Noland a virtual handshake for the Academy recognition.
