New Cop on the Beat takes a cop's eye view at the pioneering New Haven community policing program. In this Eastern Seaboard city, foundering under the burdens of joblessness and crime, police are changing the mission and mandate of law enforcement. New Cop on the Beat follows three police officers through their daily duties dealing with the problems of their fragmented communities with new and compassionate principles.
