Storyville is the first detailed cinematic look at America's legendary, legal red-light district which thrived in New Orleans from 1898 until World War I. In its heyday, 2,000 prostitutes worked within the confines of its 16 square blocks. In Storyville, we see the origins of how America came to define sexual morality, lust, greed, and pleasure. The program interweaves the voice of a fictitious prostitute with actual recorded voices of now-deceased jazz musicians who played there.
